ben talk

 voice notes

My work if you see I mean as much as and that's that's how I get all of my fridge Direction work as well but that's my heart as well as he will talk to you through how I got so I'm going to present if anything does come up and just give me a shout and like because I can't see any Instagram concrete rep

ditto press

I didn't really have an education and then when I was 2425 working is a takeaway delivery person I just passed because I'm bored and choosing between either doing nothing psychology psychology or graphics and myself and graphic designer Foundation of the visual communications and creative Direction and Camberwell was the best 3 years of my life I had to say like I really feel two people going through education at the moment because you're doing all of what we do during a pandemic is not to be underestimated how hard I think and I hope that you had a great college because it wasn't fun at all it was really hard but what I did do with other people on architecture and design and textile design and ceramics and interaction with them

Just doing bits and pieces I started and then I kind of you know by the time I finished

It was really great fun

but printing extremeprint  no printed running starting during a globe and it also during that time we got a really good we go really good reputation is printers and we doing lots and lots of work it wasn't very profitable it was very stressful and I found that really enjoying the gallery aspect and the art Direction asked what I was doing most of also eventually stop printing I have been some of the books that we published so there's an archive and a few others and these books so I still have a publishing company but I don't print things anymore so I don't have a prince to you I don't print anything for anybody but I still you know I've worked with fashion designer

I would work with her every season so I would do a thing so weather wasn't invited or textile design or and directing her fashion show or whenever it was designed the firefly on the right-hand the embroidery on the left this is another season with some embroidery in a fly design from chrome this 3D world that always gets reflected in the letters so it's it's never shown flat like it's never showing black and white it's always showing metallic like this you can see it on Instagram and on the website

This Is How We launched a 3D scan 10 different celebrities and turn them into Bee's Avatar so this is a model and Travis Scott and seven other people and what we did was kind of tried to revolutionize the way of approaching beauty story so instead of putting makeup on a person and they created for them this time of future future warrior it's on images and then tries to replicate the images are I won't go into too much for defective Lee you training on what an eye looks like then it will try to draw an eye forever and one part of the program will try to draw it and another another program will say whether or not it's kind of drawing eyes we made a thing called beauty jam which was trained on makeup looks and then Kylie Jenner and then we made using this technology so all of the stuff I do I have done the day he hasn't been like massively well-paid in fact sometimes subsidize it like this photo shoot here which was called Toy Story it's like to do it but I use it to show off of my best work and then fashion designers and people sit in the back of it so that's that's been really really amazing how I got my agency because they saw it and I carried on this is so the idea was weak turn this into this I'm showing you my role is that I'll have the ideas of the concept put the team together and then I'll be there on the set of the photoshoot kind of telling everyone wants to do it is there all very good professionals as well but we work together and creating a vision so so this is about the 1975 you some of you may be heard of I started off the manager for a drink and who he wants it which was built this the box that he's singing is an actual box so we built the screens and we also when Instagram filters started we made some filters for the band and then apply them in post-production I think I've got a couple more examples from the birthday party so these filters and this one on my Instagram page is Reading Festival about 2 years before the pandemic and that was in the middle of the stage we basically all of these landscapes and the music

do it got the opportunity to work with a modelling agency in New York ask me to do a special project with them there's make a short film and this was during during lockdown agency and they represent models Who who are kind of modelling agency and fine artists and also really interesting agency different with a different created and they film the film about all of your your models are auditioning for apart but they don't know what the parties and through the process of the film of watching the film another narrative emergency you know you'll see that some of them saw some of them are advertised or something like that

To the protests or school shootings or things like that by it's a conspiracy theory by the problem I'll buy you know Russian secret service

I'm and that's still going to be used as marketing tools so people you know people didn't know whether this is really not real and some of the collarbone

Periods of self-doubt you know having a hard time but I never wanted to work through bigger agency I never wanted to work for anyone else I can do stuff with it and eventually you know so now I'm doing but I think I'm kind of glad that I stuck with what I really wanted to do even if that has sometimes been physical before I start I started studying graphic design you know I don't think exist in the same way they did before I think the typography and you know that kind of thing is very important the whole field of Visual communications is changing we have

Read tons and tons of the kind of history of the history of Visual communications the history of typography things like Josef Muller brockmann modernism postmodernism you know the original the origins of carving and all of that stuff but I didn't want to spend all of my time reading grafik magazine and I magazine because I didn't want to my work to look like other people so we have to be aware of everything

you need more than graphics you need culture

DC with it like they can really really you know just looking at typography design but that was never really my personal interest so I would always want to go and look at Instagram

Start a

Something but you know it's something

Play Black is the public sphere like sometimes will do another time last September and it doesn't come out until April  Quietly now three social media everyday and that keeps what advice would you give us as creatives emoji to talk about this with your task I think creating a strong identity for yourself a really like I think in my experience there are two ways to go professionally I think we can either become somebody is very employable which is a very nice it's a very good idea becoming very employable and means that you can fit into any agency or company and do what you asked to do to a very high professional standard or you can be more of a kind of independent person who has an independent with my work I do have a very very specific voice some people hate it some people love it and I just had to take the Jam or that somebody want to pay for it I can't if I start to dilute my tastes or my interest it never works like I have to just do my own thing and then my agent said you would say that either either

being clear about what you are good at and like and be clear

I don't ever use software really because I'm working as a director as I work with people who are using it I know how to use final in After Effects and Photoshop i know a bit of code but I'm not a programmer

blender

Is more difficult but I think you know if you're interested in typography you should be learning illustrator and InDesign if you're interested in photography Photoshop and if you're interested in CGI stuff you should be like

a photo draw and we don't and we don't use and we don't use photo blend simulation simulation soft specific I think it's really important to you to use I'm a big fan of Rena and no recently Rita Ora function

if people is inspired i have influence and i cant be mad about it im inspired by ther thing s it part of culture.

Something like movement Direction or nudity you always say they are you comfortable being nude or are you comfortable being held up in the air we would have that conversation before doing some photoshoots and remember somebody wants asking me if I wanted to take all my clothes off on my own with no not really you know I don't know you it's weird all of those things we just we just behave professionally basically had the conversation before talk to their agent get people to sign up on

Sometimes I'm on a film set and there's like 150 people so asking me what to do and it feels a bit like I did this happen but then I remember actually I can do this job like I'm capable of doing this it's not I'm not here by accident so it's also using deepfake and deepfake technology is what I use with Harker as well so yeah that is really really amazing as much much how do you communicate your ideas to your collaborators sketches sketches storyboards

 cheap

dont really look up to

It's really hard at the moment because we're all on lockdown but I would say that networking is a significant part of my job so I don't tree socializing and networking

Especially going to be really really stressful and difficult my job so I don't think

When the opportunity comes up and we are just talking on Instagram social media

And I'm also working on some personal project so like apart from doing creative Direction I am also kind of three social media like a cultural commentator I guess and a podcast but I'm looking into doing something like a TV show and stuff maybe I'd love to do the creative direction for a game that would be really really fun and so that's a goal by director film and director game I'd love to do that

We've been talking about social media and I think you should come up with I'll tell you how my social media strategy started I had an assistant call Becky for about a year and a half and my Instagram used to be pictures of my cat and pictures of my dinner and my mate and this is about 7 years ago and she said everything Instagram give it a different name and just send it she was and what would be good for me so I did that and I just committed to heavy day posting One image that I liked and turned into my whole career in so like that that just one thing that I personally really love the

Kind of channels in discord server restart the financial technology mods and it's not a dream where you only stream yourself from the side cooking whatever it is I don't know but it has to have some kind of rationale to it something that people might find engaging and sitting with your practice you can have as many different social medias Transformers you want it could be one it to me 10 whatever and I want you to investigate what would be appropriate to you so I've tried Twitter I've tried ready I've tried various other things Facebook obviously those work for me the audience is amazing and I can find it I can find it quite information overload sometimes but it's it works really well for certain things just find what works for you and for your fake persona so you need to come up with the handle and use the same handle for every different platform so I'm always Bend it so you know everything so what are you posting on each thing current affairs on Twitter and recipes on Pinterest and you don't have to be to build an entirely convincing social media

I think what we saying it to submit I'll send it an email after the details of submitting what just asked for so give you a link there yeah with 334 submission are we Amber
