they came back to me after Iasked some questions as they had difficulties in their live stream
my question was how to approach a studio to get some current tips and sorting out how to go about it in a check list type way
Loren was very helpful and lovely
Hi, good morning this is Lauren. Wow, that sounds really like receptionist in there. Thanks for bearing with us. Come back to you with the answer for this one. It's really good question. In terms of reaching out to teachers that you want to workout first thing add, say is don't wait until their advertising for jobs. Just dive straight in and drop them a email. I would always try and personalised email to the kind of decision makers. So if it's like a. You know for five person team you could probably address. It's like the founder or CEO. Maybe create erector whoever you think. That kind of most relevant person is that would be in your Department or role that could potentially high you. I would then also you can totally gamble and if that email is not publicly accessible somewhere like most of the nine out 10 times, it's like their first name. At the domain name or it's their first name Dot last name at. That's annoying, I don't know when it cut off that, but you can pretty fine the formula workout the email address, and then if in doubt, I would honestly send an email to like almost everyone on the team. But you don't need to send it obviously too. Like the receptionist or the junior strategist or whatever like go for the top people. But yeah, the more is like buying lottery tickets, the more emails you send up the better the chance you have of it. Land again, someone's inbox when they've got time to look at your CV or portfolio. And then yeah, in terms of the content of the email, I'd really try and personalise it to that studio. You know that you say I love. Blah blah blah project she did. Would love to know how you came to that end design solution or you know kind of ask a thoughtful, insightful questions so sparked conversation an. And yeah, if you don't hear back don't be afraid to follow up. Ever like give him away. Give him a week and then drop them another email. Just say hey just checking this you didn't get your spam totally pretty sure you're busy blah blah blah and even if they don't get back too at that point. But then they advertise for a job like a few months down the line. There will probably remember seeing your portfolio before subconsciously there black. I've definitely seen this before and they'll. Even if it didn't directly remember, they'll remember that you put in that. That price thought to send that email awhile ago if you can. Also I would like connect with the mall on LinkedIn or the kind of top team. And if you can't connect with them, follow them on LinkedIn. It's kind of the same, but you can't send messages, but they get a lot of connexion requests. Obviously, if you could try and find. The individual people on Twitter, all these are things that can give you a really good insight into. The team that makes up the studio. And when you are sending them your portfolio specifically, like it's a tiny detail but makes a massive difference. If you just address it to them on the front cover of your portfolio. So it's like Studio X2, X one said their names and that just shows that you've gone to that bit of extra detail. You're not just like spamming out your portfolio everywhere. And then make sure you see the content of it is the type of projects that suit their line of business or style or kind of typical clientele. All those sorts of things.
Subtle thing to do is like if you are. If you have followed the company or LinkedIn and connected or followed with some of the team again trying to build up that relationship and like commenting on their posts to liking it, engaging with it does anything you can do really, so it's not like you just arrive in their inbox one day like hi, hire me. An you know, take time. If they talking at event, sign up and go to the event and then drop the message after. It seems like I loved your talk all of these little things honestly will make a massive difference in terms of standing out.
