studies i've contacted

Opudi

Opudi is an extension of Notch, but they focus on branding and adverts. They have worked with several big companies such as Synnøve, Rema 1000, Sørlandschips, Stange Gårdsprodukter, Bauer Media, Cirkle K, Nbev, Beckmann, and Powel Construction. They have created this new company to specialize in branding as Notch focuses more on digital marketing and development.  I really love the designs they come up with, and I believe it is somewhat near what I produce and as I do like packaging quite a lot, and it's fun for me that would be really cool to work there for a little while.

They say that they work as problem solvers, but they just happen to be graphic designers. Their approach is often logical and straight forward, as they do not beat around the bush.

They are not a large studio, so they do not have project managers, account managers, and analysts, so they work as a tight-knit team. They also work with national and local brands. They have yet to reply, but I am somewhat hopeful that they will sometime soon. I tried last year as well, and they replied after submission, so there is hope.

Their own self-branding is also very appealing to me.

Olssøns Barbirei

Since 2012 they have focused on specializing in brand identity and packaging design.
They also do, Packaging, Branding, Identity, Design strategy, Structural packaging design, Naming, Storytelling, Copywriting, Custom typography, Art Direction, Illustration, Book Design, Social Media Content & Curation and Websites.
This all seems quite ideal to me. If not, to get some insight from them from me, mailing them would be amazing.

they had an interview with brand identity.

TBI: What have you learnt starting out?

EB: Endurance is as important as talent.
Make a list of things you want to achieve. It helps to focus and clarify goals.
There is not only one way to succeed. Trust your process.
Work and life are not very separate for us. We have been growing following our interests, which keeps us motivated.
Surround yourself with people you admire.
“The opposite of beautiful is lazy, not ugly” by Paola Antonelli.

Can you highlight a major challenge you’ve faced?

EB: Growing our team.

Me and Henrik have worked together for 16 years, and at certain points, we felt we met our limits when it came to strengthening the business side of the studio. We sought help to recruit and understand who could help us, which started a long learning process. A process that forced us to look at ourselves with honesty and to grow out of our own fears.

To make a long story short, instead of getting a new managing director, we chose to continue to lead our own studio, and we believe this allows us to keep our integrity and focus on quality. Last year we hired a new designer, and we hope to grow into a team of five-six people in the near future. We’re looking for people who share our ambitions – to create meaningful and beautiful projects that inspire a change of attitude and contribute to a better future.

They utilise illustration in many of their packaging designs, and as I've gotten to enjoy that a bit more lately, it would be interesting to work there. Along with that, they value things being beautiful appeals to me a lot.

Neue

Neue is a branding and design agency working closely with our clients to better understand their challenges – and to make a difference to their brands.

They are a larger company, meaning that they are more likely to take in new implies or interns, so this is a good option in terms of where to apply.

They work with a company called Los & co. They work with marketing for anyone. Neue works closely with them as they usually supply the visual, and Los & co they work with more marketing and distribution and planning.
