initial ideas and brief concept

a magazine for younger people that focuses on handcraft. it would be like Hjemmet or Husfliden magazines but for 20-30 year olds. this would connect to the essay as it would take into consideration the main target audience of the craft but use typography to change the perception of the art. the idea is to make it seem like a high end magazine that could be used as a coffee table magazine and also inspire. 

rebrand

this would work for a number of brands that have lacking focus on typography an are maybe struggling a bit such as Game or brands that compete with more wholistic brand identities as Mango or Sinsbury does. the focus would be on creating a personalty that would resonate with a target audience that they are already aiming to get to. 

Game it could be a strategy to create an online presence and service as the current way of doing it is not uptodate and they are more than likely to go under in not that long as most consumers buy their games online. 

sainsury seems to brand themselves as something that they are not. 


m&s clothing seems like a dead end and nothing new really comes out of there, there might be some good stuff from them but it does not make it to the public.


Mango

is grouped together with zara at any turn as their branding is so similar they are brushed under the rug and no one seems to care about them as a band they are seen as quite bland despite some big changes that they are undergoing. their clothing is known to be of great quality yet it is not a thing people are talking about.  

the body shop 

the body shop was a prominent sustainable brand when it was first started, but controversies surrounding the body shop being sold to l'oreal and the founder dying has lead to mistrust in the sustainable conscious consumers the brand image is very glossy and in order to get back the consumer they need a redo, as well as rethinking their sustainable approaches.
